Next Generation Philanthropy Forum

Over the past decade social networking websites and other new media tools have changed the way people, especially youth, communicate, relate and become civically active.  These changes have had a profound impact globally and organisations or movements seeking to reach the next generation of givers and activists must capitalise on them.  Building a more prosperous world requires strategy and focus on the next generation to increase philanthropic giving, improve advocacy and promote relationship-based social entrepreneurship.

In order to bring attention to and promote innovations in these fields, the Legatum Institute convened the 2009 Next Generation Philanthropy Forum in London.  The event addressed the opportunities and pitfalls presented by these new trends, and provided expertise on the benefits of rigour and professionalism in advocacy and philanthropic endeavours.

9 November 2009, London
