Introducing the Libya Media Wiki - Snapshot of a Country in Transition

Chloé de Préneuf, Legatum Institute
The Legatum Institute hosted a debate about the future of the Libyan media, and officially launched the English version of the Libya Media Wiki, www.libyamediawiki.com.
Huda Abuzeid from the Rashad Foundation and Chloé de Préneuf from the Legatum Institute, who both worked together in Libya to write the first version of the Wiki, began by presenting the website and explaining the importance of monitoring the media in Libya today. Fatima El-Issawy, POLIS, LSE, who had just returned from a field trip to Libya, compared the state of the media in Libya with what she had observed in Tunisia and Egypt. Hadia Laghsini, who works on the Libyan blogging platform, www.Libyablog.org, explained how the Libyan media will benefit from the Wiki. The discussion was moderated by Anne Applebaum from the Legatum Institute.
