The working group on judicial reform convened at the Legatum Institute as part of its Future of Iran conference.
The sessions included discussions of judicial and legal history in Iran, with a special focus on the contemporary judiciary. Outside reflections were provided by experts from Chile and Poland.
"Can you do judicial reform in Iran before a political settlement, before you have a new something, whatever you may call that something? Most people would say 'no'... the more relevant question is, 'Can you start thinking about judicial reform?' and I think the answer to that question is definitely yes."
