The Legatum Institute was delighted to host Charles Moore in leading a conversation on “The opportunities and challenges for Britain in a new post-Brexit era” at a round table event.
Charles Moore acknowledged that Brexit had marked the triumph of a sovereign state. The example set by the English people was being studied across Europe – and might well be copied across the continent. This was not to ignore, however, the very real challenges, in terms of the movement of goods and people, that could still hinder prosperity, even if temporarily.
Charles Moore is one of Britain’s pre-eminent journalists. He writes a weekly column for The Daily Telegraph and The Spectator. He has edited both these publications as well as The Sunday Telegraph. The second volume of his highly-acclaimed biography of Margaret Thatcher, “Margaret Thatcher: The Authorised Biography, Vol II: Everything She Wants” was published in 2015.
This continues the series of high-profile events the Institute has been hosting, with guest speakers including David Brooks, The Lord Griffiths of Fforestfatch, the former Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks, Arthur Brooks, The Rt Hon the Lord Deben, The Hon Mr Justice Blair, and Prof Angie Hobbs.
