In February, representatives of the 'Legatum Prosperity Index™' attended the 2014 Sankalp Africa Summit in Nairobi, Kenya
Programme Director Nathan Gamester and Policy Analyst Solène Dengler were joined by more than 300 delegates from all over the world, who were gathered to speak about how to leverage the potential for social entrepreneurship in Africa.
In his keynote presentation, Gamester discussed some of the major trends from the Legatum Institute’s recent publication Insight on Africa: Special Report. This was followed by a panel discussion on the role of leadership and integrity as crucial factors for business-driven development as well as the importance of optimism among Africa’s youth for the future of economic development.

In March, the team will travel to Yaounde, Cameroon to take part in a panel session at the 7th International AfrEA conference 2014. Here the focus will be on how to use the Legatum Prosperity Index™ as an alternative measure of development.
